New Look

I've been fooling around with the blog layout. Tell me what you think? Is the background too distracting? I was just getting tired of the old look and had to try something new.

Happy Blogiversary to us!

I can't believe it, but tomorrow is our "blogiversary". We will have been blogging for a whole year! How did we find enough things to blog about for that long? :) We don't have a huge readership by any means, but there seem to be at least a couple dozen of you that read here regularly. Would you do us the honor of leaving a comment for our blogiversary? Maybe include where you are from and if you have a connection to the military... I won't speak for the other contributors, but sometimes I feel like I am writing to thin air.

Must Click!

Watch Fred Thompson's response to Michael Moore here. It's great!

Read what Jarhead John has to say about war funding consequences (if you haven't already)here. He has quite a firestorm going in the comment section of this post.

Read here about the death threat to Eagles by a "peace" marcher.

Thinking Blogger Award

I am so honored that our little blog was awarded the Thinking Blogger Award by De'on at Gunz Up. You can read what she has to say about the award here.

Rules:
Should you choose to participate, please make sure you pass this list of rules to the blogs you are tagging. I thought it would be appropriate to include them with the meme. The participation rules are simple:

1. If, and only if, you get tagged, write a post with links to 5 blogs that make you think.

2. Link to this post so that people can easily find the exact origin of the meme.

3. Optional: Proudly display the 'Thinking Blogger Award' with a link to the post that you wrote.

Please, remember to tag blogs with real merits, i.e. relative content, and above all - blogs that really get you thinking!

I guess I can't tag De'on since she was awarded the Thinking Blogger Award by Flag Gazer, even though her blog most definitely makes me think and is one of my daily reads. De'on also gave the award to Jarhead John who is another of my daily reads, so that at least narrows things down a bit. It's very tough to choose just 5, but here they are:

5 blogs that are always well written and thought provoking.

1. Big White Hat

2. Military Families Voice of Victory

3. Hillbilly White Trash

4. Political Pistachio

5. An Ol' Broad's Ramblings

Guest Book

In our sidebar to the right, you will see our Guest Book. We would love for everyone to "sign" it by adding a picture. De'on at Gunz Up was our first guest! It's just fun to see everyone. The picture of us doesn't include everyone, so I'll update it when I get another picture.

My Point Radio

Listen to My Point Radio this morning at 9:30. dtodeen has asked me to call in to talk about our care packs. It'll be fun!

Edit: I had so much fun with this! Dave and Jenn are both so funny and were so nice. I'll have to call in more often! ;) You can still hear the show by clicking the link...one of the cool things about radio on the internet.

New Comments

I uploaded Haloscan for our comments and seem to have deleted all previous comments in the process! Yikes! I think this will work better, but I'm sorry that I've deleted every one's comments as there were some really great ones, plus I had replied to some of the comments that y'all left. Maybe I can figure how to bring them back, but if not please comment away!! ;)
